This Thursday, August 31st marks the International Overdose Awareness Day in 2023.<\/div>\n

– From 10 AM to 12 PM, Pavilion Women’s Centre<\/span><\/a> and other TDAS partners will hold a community art project in memory of those who lost their lives to drug overdose near boardwalk volleyball courts in New Liskeard.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
– From 1 to 2 PM, Timiskaming Health Unit<\/span><\/a> will set up a booth in Centennial Park in Englehart to talk about harm reduction services.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
– From 1 to 4 PM. Sacred Fire at Mino M’shki-ki Indigenous Health Team<\/span><\/a> Kirkland Lake location will raise awareness of drug poisoning and remember the people we have lost. Harm reduction supplies, refreshments, snacks, and cultural support will be available.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

– From 3 PM, a memorial service will be held at the Timiskaming Memorial Site near the Toburn Mine Property in Kirkland Lake. We have a free barbeque and live music during the service, all are welcome.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

– De 10 h \u00e0 midi, le Pavilion \u2013 Centre des femmes et d\u2019autres partenaires de la SDAT tiendront, pr\u00e8s des terrains de volleyball aux abords de la promenade de New Liskeard, un projet d\u2019art communautaire \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire des personnes qui sont d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9es d\u2019une surdose.<\/div>\n
– De 13 h \u00e0 14 h, les services de sant\u00e9 du Timiskaming auront un kiosque d’information au parc Centennial \u00e0 Englehart pour parler des services de r\u00e9duction des m\u00e9faits.<\/div>\n
– De 13 h \u00e0 16 h, Feu sacr\u00e9 \u00e0 Mino M\u2019shki-ki Kirkland Lake. Afin de sensibiliser les gens \u00e0 l\u2019empoisonnement aux drogues et de se souvenir des personnes que nous avons perdues. Du mat\u00e9riel pour la r\u00e9duction des m\u00e9faits, des rafra\u00eechissements, des collations et un soutien culturel et occidental seront disponibles.<\/div>\n
– \u00c0 15 h, un service comm\u00e9moratif se tiendra au monument comm\u00e9moratif des mineurs situ\u00e9 pr\u00e8s de la mine Toburn, \u00e0 Kirkland Lake. Il y aura un barbecue gratuit et de la musique sur place durant le court service; tout le monde est bienvenu.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
